This is a Full-time position for Day Shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Will include the set-up and monitoring of 1 or more machines on a priority basis.
  • Monitor tooling conditions and ensure finishes and dimensions are achieved.
  • Adjust programs at the machine control if required, adjust tool offsets to produce the part according to established dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to measure parts on the machine during machining cycles to ensure parts are being produced as per established dimensions and tolerances.
  • Work with colleagues in fabrication to sketch, describe and produce fixtures required to machine large and small parts.
  • Work with programmers for adjustments or new programs.
  • Verify dimensions and check using micrometers, Verniers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, or other precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Using 2-ton overhead crane to safely load parts into machine.
  • Complete work that you are responsible for in a timely and productive manner.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor/manager when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years preferred CNC Lathe experience.
  • Machinist with live tooling experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical ability and understanding of engineering principles.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work weekends is appreciated but not required.
  • Review the sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Communicate with programmers on effectively producing good quality parts to print.
  • Set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Always focused on health and safety.
  • Able to work overtime as required to maintain production schedules.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a CNC Setup operator.
  • Manual machining experience an asset.
  • Experience in CNC vertical machining center an asset.
